One of my favorite quotes

After outmaneuvering Rommel, Patton said, "Rommel, you magnificent bastard. I read your book." Point being, preparations are essential for success. That said, its funny that Gus was looking at webpages searching for different beers and I spent the time counting all of the different types of beers at my local Fred Meyer store. 132 if you can believe it... I decided to make myself a mixed bag six pack to wet my whistle (To the horror of the lady at the check stand). I thought this old lady was going to have a heart attack, I couldn't believe it. Since I hadn't been drinking yet, I was fast on my feet and told her that I only used beers that were the same price as the beer box I had brought up to the register. Crisis diverted, she said, "Oh well, then I guess I can just ring up the box and its ok." THANK GOD! We didn't have to change her Depends. Stupid Bitch, the box I used was the cheapest of the six beers and you completely fucked up the inventory. I love taking advantage of old people.

Beer list

I have a memory like a steel trap. A steep trap that only snaps close sometimes and usually misses the little rodent it was supposed to kill. Therefore I will be making a list and throwing up helpful links and beer lists onto the site along the way. Because if you think I am going to remember whether I have had a certain beer around November, you are mistakin.

In preperation for this waste of time, I started with one of my favorites, Anheuser Busch (Fine, anhowsyourcock. Man I love that joke.) Anyways, I came across one of the signs of the apocolypse and thought I would share it with you.

http://www.drinkinnovations.com/ Please check it out. They have many ideas for using beer as a mixer. While you may actually find something here you like (or secrectly like all the recipes...don't tell anyone), if this site doesn't make you throw up a little in your mouth, well...it's nice to see that your gag reflex is under control considering you are planning a 365 day bender. And if you don't want to punch Max the so-called creator right in the face, then you are too young to be on our blog, you little spiky haired pansy lover.

edit: With over 60 beers on the first site I went to, and all kinds of new questions about malt liqours, fruity malt beverages, energy beers, and other specialty beers, this is gonna be a long list.

Willie is in

Although Willie is sometime gone for months at a time, he is in. He may be calling in his drinks, as well as "making up" drinks on the weekends or next time he hits a port, but everyone knows that he will more than make up for the weeks of little drink, with months of many drink when he is home.

You can always count on Willie to call you from Hawaii, San Francisco, or some actual far away place to tell you about how wasted he is and giggle about what ever random event is happening on the street in front of him. Complete with obscure movie line or song lyric. He leaves the best (most random) cell phone message ever.

I need an intervention!

Ok, I'm in! I fully expect, due to time contraints (lazy), my rock star social life(work), and other circumstances(wife), that I will be having to do "make-up" drinks at the end of each week. It is ok, however, for you all to do a reverse intervention to get me back on track. Instead of getting my mom, friends and cook psychologist together to make me stop drinking, please bring a beer bong, a stripper, definitely a monkey and a midget, and force me to drink. I know I can count on your support.

Eddie B.'s Gonna Drink Some Brews

So my new roomie in Portland decided he wanted in on a little 365 Beer. So that makes three of us so far counting Gus, Eddie B. and myself. I'm thinking Dicko and Smooty are most likely in also. Anybody else think that they can do it?

Holidays

We should have a few scheduled days where you have to drink a certain beer.
St Patricks Day and that weekend should be Guinness, Harp's, and all the other Irish beers.
Cinco de Drinco (Mayo) and that weekend should be Corona, Pacifico, and all the other Mexican beers.
Feb 16th should be Nate's pick, as well as everyone else that is playing should pick the beer on their birthday.
July 4th (as well as that whole week leading to my birthday on the 6th) should be All-American beers like Budweiser, Coors, Busch, etc.
Halloween can be Hornsby's Hard Cider.
Plenty of winter beers for Christmas and New Years.

Is there an online calender that we can put on this blog or link to?

365 BEER!

Here we go.
Whoever would like to drink some beers with us, leave us a comment and we'll try to get you added. As for the rules check here. The only difference in our game is you have to drink the whole beer (whether it's 12, 16, 22, 40 ounces or more).
I plan on posting a picture with each post and also listing the brewery and the beer's name. 365 beers may sound like a lot, but I know Gus and I can do it....
Who else is in?
